Q&A: Hayley Starr

Hayley Starr designed multiple collections, has collaborated with amazing fellow artists, owned an installation space called “The Divine Quest of Hayley Starr and Company” in West Hollywood, sold her Infinite collection on both QVC and The Today Show, and has written and illustrated children’s books, all while doing her very best to be a good human.

She currently lives in Venice, CA where she recently opened the doors to her new studio and store ‘The Quest by Hayley” a space filled with light, color, art, clothes, jewels and products she loves to share, as well as showcasing and supporting other artists, doing her part to keep Venice grounded in its artistic history.

What is your personal motto?

Stay young, find balance, embrace all colors of the rainbow.

What natural gift would you most like to possess?

A photographic memory.

In your next life, what would you choose to come back as?

I wouldn’t, and if I had to, I wouldn’t mind coming back as myself again.

Aside from yoga, what activities do you enjoy?

Spinning and hiking, both very much.

Who inspires you or your practice?

Honestly? No one. Vanity, strength and happiness are my motivators.

What is your present state of mind?

A little overwhelmed, but content.

What drew you into the world of yoga?

A friend named Myka.

What is your idea of earthly happiness?

Peace of mind, abundance, family and to be surrounded by animals.

Who are you inspired by the most?

Mary Magdalene

What are you listening to right now?

Nothing. I prefer silence.

What are you watching right now?

Sons of Anarchy.

What are you reading right now?

A novel written by a friend called “Semi-charmed life”, for once not something new age.

Exotic Getaways:

What is your favorite place in the entire world? 

As of last month, Uruguay or Paris.

What has been your favorite discovery on a trip?

The food.

What is/are your, “must haves,” while traveling?

My oils, vitamins, the appropriate attire and my little pink dolphin.

What is your favorite retreat venue?

If Ayahusaca can be considered a retreat, which I think it is, I’d have to say that. Otherwise, I haven’t one.
